Ayurvedic Remedies for Better Immunity and Strength.

Updated: Jul 16, 2021

Why are people turning to alternative healthcare methods such as Ayurveda? This is because it offers a holistic way of living which can help one to prevent diseases while helping to improve mental and physical well-being. It teaches humans to be self-sufficient when it comes to taking care of their health, with the help of an organic balanced diet, exercise, and meditation.

Ayurvedic texts also chart out ways you can cure minor health issues and enhance your longevity. Ultimately, the comprehensive measures taken to restore the harmonious balance between the body, mind and the soul can prove to be extremely effective.

People who are prone to catching infections and diseases can give Ayurvedic solutions a try to strengthen their immune system.

Here are some ways:

1) Add spices to your diet. Many spices, when consumed on a regular basis, have immune system-boosting agents which can keep diseases at bay. For example, you can add half a teaspoon of turmeric to your food on a daily basis to keep your immune system happy. It is also available in the form of capsules.

Also, you can add one pinch red pepper flakes, two chopped cloves of garlic, and a few drops of stevia to a glass of warm water. Drink this mixture every day to ward off cough, cold and other viral infections

2) Take time away from your busy schedule to practice yoga and meditation. This restores the balance between the body and the brain and also helps to lower stress levels.

Yoga poses such as the Warrior Pose can improve the functioning of the immune system. Additionally, you can also try the breathing technique of Pranayama every morning and see the results yourself!

3) According to ancient texts, a full-body oil massage (abhyañga) performed by professional massage therapists can go a long way when it comes to strengthening your immune system. It protects the system by helping to speed up the production of antibodies.

Oils such as sandalwood, jasmine, and myrrh are good choices. To be most effective, the body is to be massaged with body temperature oil during summers. During winters, the oil should be heated. Post massage, let your body absorb the oil and wait one hour before taking a bath.

4) Include some herbs in your diet especially for your immune system. For instance, Ashwagandha is a great adaptogenic herb that can be extremely helpful if you want to stay healthy throughout the year. This herb can also improve your concentration.

Don’t forget that you also need a healthy diet which includes a lot of fruits and vegetables! Hydrate yourself; drink half your weight in ounces of pure water daily. If you weight 100 pounds drink 50 ounces of pure water daily. And get a good night’s sleep as well, if you want a healthy and strong immune system.
